We look at a lot of UFOCs - every document from every system, every year for the last 17 years, in fact - and we are uniquely qualified to testify that there is nothing "uniform" about Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars. We're not knocking anybody! These documents are difficult to put together. There is too much information and too few data points that can be easily formatted. Still, we see some things that make us laugh and, without naming names, thought we would share a couple of them with you.

None, we think. This company says very clearly, if not necessarily with proper grammar, that they have no company-owned locations. "There is no company owned offices." And just as clearly the table shows that no states have, well, 2 offices.

Dang, spellcheck. This company misspelled its own company name on the FTC cover sheet: "[so-and-so] Francising, Inc." Makes that FTC disclaimer, We haven't checked it, and do not know if it is correct, ironic. Neither did they, apparently.

Permission granted. This company's franchise agreement is just dangerously permissive. Respect the laws of God and Man, please.
