Tips for Sending Mail to Franchisees
We help lots of clients reach franchisees and based on their feedback, we have been able to compile this short list of tips that we hope will improve your marketing as well.
- Do multiple mailings. As recently reported in QSR Magazine, Dairy Queen's successful new store development marketing program mailed three times to multi-unit owners. (June 2005). You may vary your mail piece by design and/or type: for example, first mailing, you may send a standard letter; second, a postcard; third an oversized piece.
- When mailing to a unit address, include the name on the sign. Help the postman find the unit - include the name on the sign as well as the name of the incorporated business.
- Clean your mail file. At FRANdata we continually verify our mailing addresses with CASS-certified postal standardization software. This service does not help much with pre-sorting discounts (though there are a lot of franchisees, its a not a big database in the direct mail world) but we keep up with zipcode and street number changes, as well as other changes that might affect delivery.
