Unit Performance Reports

How Do Your Units Compare?

Do you know whether the financial model for your unit offering is in line with other brands in your industry? Are your investment estimates in line with others? Are your fees? How about the estimated revenue? Ongoing expenses?

Learn the answers to these questions and more like them in the Unit Performance Report for your industry.

This exciting new report series will examine the investment, income and expenses for the major brands in your industry. Using this study, you will be able to see how you stack up and highlight where you need to focus your efforts.

Detailed Analysis

Each Unit Performance Report focuses on a detailed analysis of three main areas: Initial Investment, Income, and Ongoing Fees at the franchised unit. The Initial Investment analysis compares both the total investment required as well as the types of expense that are the largest (such as build-out or equipment expenses).

Income analysis includes average revenue, net profit (EBITDA), EBITDA as a percent of sales, and sales per dollar invested.

Ongoing fees compares the details behind the royalty and advertising fees the franchisees must pay.

Find out what is included: Read the Table of Contents here

Data tables showing the complete details of initial investment estimates and operating expenses for the units in each brand are included (and are available in spreadsheet form upon request.) When available, unit revenue by unit classifications is also included.

Apples-to-Apples Comparison

Not all units are the same though: some are larger than others. To make the most sense of this analysis, we have normalized the data by the size of unit.

So the Unit Performance report also provides such comparisons as sales per square foot and investment per square foot. This additional details makes the report uniquely useful.
