2023 IFA/FRANdata Labor Study

The International Franchise Association commissioned FRANdata to  conduct  its second annual longitudinal study on labor trends in franchising. The study was conducted with the goal of gaining a better understanding of the labor climate faced by franchisees. The study covers 169 senior executives representing franchisors and franchise portfolio companies that own 221 brands. These brands collectively represent over 118,000 units and encompass nearly 25% of all domestic franchised businesses. The study shows that labor continues to be the most significant issue facing franchised businesses while conditions show improvement, it is clear that franchises are still feeling continued pressure when it comes to finding employees to fill available positions.
